Historic campus building to receive $38.6 million upgrade, construction slated to begin in March
URBANA – The Capital Development Board (CDB), which manages all state-funded, non-road construction projects, today announced that a contract has been awarded and construction will soon begin on the extensive rehabilitation of the historic Lincoln Hall on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. |

January 15 outreach program in Champaign to familiarize contractors with new requirements as state gears up for a busy construction season
Champaign – The first in a series of outreach programs to familiarize contractors and suppliers with new state construction project requirements will be held Friday, January 15 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the I Hotel and Conference Center at 1900 South First Street in Champaign. The program is free and open to anyone interested in working on state-funded construction projects, including numerous projects that are coming as part of the Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program. No advance reservations are required. |

CHICAGO – November 10, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn today announced the site of the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Chicago, a 200-bed facility that will begin construction in 2010. The $65 million project is part of the Illinois Jobs Now! capital plan, signed into law by Governor Quinn earlier this year. |

CHICAGO – Approximately 1,000 granite panels, each weighing
between 200 and 600 pounds, will soon be removed at an estimated
cost of $1 million from the arcade surrounding the James R.
Thompson Center, the main State of Illinois office building
in Chicago, as state officials address an unsafe situation that
saw a stone panel fall from the arcade this summer. |

CHICAGO – April 9, 2009. At a meeting of the Illinois
Reform Commission, Governor Pat Quinn signed an executive order
to make appointments to Illinois boards and commissions more
transparent and accessible. Under the executive order, the Governor
launched Appointments.Illinois.gov, a website that allows Illinois
citizens to access information about members and vacancies in
the state’s 300 boards and commissions. |
