Illinois Accessibility Code

This Code is intended to ensure that the built environment, including all spaces and elements of all applicable buildings and facilities in the State of Illinois is so designed, constructed, and/or altered to assure the safety and welfare of all members of society and to be readily accessible to, and usable by, environmentally limited persons.

Illinois Accessibility Task Force will be meeting to recommend revisions with respect to public school property.

Illinois Energy Conservation Code

The Illinois Energy Conservation Code is designed to help protect the environment and reduce energy consumption.


Energy Efficient Building Act takes effect.

Public Act 096-0778 was signed into law on August 28, 2009 amending the Energy Efficient Commercial Building Act by including residential buildings and amending the name of the act to the Energy Efficient Building Act. The new requirements for residential buildings became effective on January 29, 2010. More>>
